I ended up getting a OnePlus 6 since I found it really cheap secondhand. First impressions of GNOME Shell Mobile on #postmarketOS: definitely **very** experimental, but this has so much potential in the long-term. I've donated to @gnome and @postmarketOS - it's absolutely worth supporting this effort.libadwaita is a godsend on mobile. GNOME Web & Fractal-next in particular are working surprisingly well (installed via gnome-nightly Flatpak repo). Will write an article about everything sometime!

Hi all! Just recently signed up for #Mastodon. A little #introduction:I write about Linux, FOSS, software - whatever interests me, really. I just put out my first article, "Distribution packaging for Linux desktop applications is unsustainable" - check it out and let me know what you think! https://memoryfile.codeberg.page/posts/Distribution-packaging-for-Linux-desktop-applications-is-unsustainable/#Linux #FOSS #software

By the way, seeing the explosion of new people joining Mastodon is really cool. Can't wait to talk to people on here!

@hehemrin Adding onto what @mah said, I'd argue Flatpak is very important for the sustainability of the Linux desktop longterm compared to using formats like .deb. I wrote about it here: https://memoryfile.codeberg.page/posts/Distribution-packaging-for-Linux-desktop-applications-is-unsustainable/This talk is also very good: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WuYGcs0t6I

Trying GNOME 44 on my phone - some noticeable polish for GNOME Mobile recently on PostmarketOS edge. Definitely feels less buggy!Still hoping an immutable mobile Linux distro comes out sometime 👀️ I'd love to try one. Especially one that builds images in the cloud like uBlue. https://ublue.it#MobileLinux #PostmarketOS #gnome @jorge

Thoughts? Not necessarily agreeing with every point in this, but it could be nice to have some kind of badge letting you know that a certain piece of software is outdated or unmaintained."The security risks of Flathub" https://blog.frehi.be/2023/04/23/the-security-risks-of-flathub/ #flathub #flatpak
