@ky0ko @Gargron It‘s more than 30 days after the TOS taking effect. So if you didn’t just create your account, you’d have to create a new one for this opt-out to work.

@pixelfed Isn’t it based on the countries you offer your services in? Just like GDPR. So the country you’re based in doesn’t matter.

@mdhughes Everyone can DRM their content. The thing is: It doesn’t work. All Netflix shows have been pirated, so if you want to get them “for free”, you can. So DRM only hurts honest customers. There’s no real need for DRM (see The Witcher games), especially not for DRM that isn’t even working.

@mdhughes That’s not at all what I’m arguing. I’m arguing for not making the experience for honest people worse by putting DRM on content which doesn’t stop dishonest people.

@djsumdog @Mitsuuu https://fuse.wikichip.org/news/2400/intel-rolls-out-cascade-lake-xeon-w-processors/ These are the CPUs (the Mac Pro houses the M ones).https://www.amd.com/en/graphics/workstations-radeon-pro-vega-ii These are the GPUs (no price yet). Add to that ECC RAM, a m.2 SSD, motherboard and the expensive looking case, and you probably don't get to $6000, but at least fairly close.

@deFrisselle @cj You still have the freedom to chose or even build your own app or setup your own instance. How is this infringing on your right to free speech in any way?

@PixelfedLabs Could you elaborate on what the effect will be?

@shadowfacts I’d also love HD remasters, bit sadly it was digitally captured. Today that’s totally fine, but back in the day those cameras really didn’t have the greatest resolution..

@shadowfacts Ah thanks. I didn’t know it in that detail. Seems like we’re left with hoping that some company like Netflix or Amazon picks the project up (which is highly unlikely though).

@shadowfacts Wasn’t there something with Firefox not supporting HLS streams? I’m pretty sure, Apple uses that, which is why their keynotes only play in some browsers.

@shadowfacts I played it using an Xbox Controller and it’s definitely worth it.
