       @ErikUden can confirm after three buses zoomed by my partner and me near Amsterdam before a local rolled her eyes and came over and said in perfect English, "you must be a tourist, right?" She then proceeded to walk out two lanes into the highway to wave down the bus that was in the far left lane so that we could get on. #TrueStory

       @pluralistic @codinghorror @joncruz @jorgecandeias I actually dressed up this way for Halloween that year and tied a helium balloon to my belt as part of the costume. When I arrived at the party, dozens of people looked at me in confusion and then one guy at the back of the room shouted, "Hah! You're Cory Doctorow!" We became the best of friends instantly. #TrueStory
