@Teri_Kanefield unfortunately the thing that would have been most helpful in terms of the public interest (as opposed to the private interest of Dominion) is not part of the settlement. Per the NYT: "Under the terms of the settlement, Fox News will not have to apologize or admit to spreading false claims on network programming..."

Fucking #gnome sometimes (most of the time). I've got a fairly intricate op to run tonight and under #kde I would be able to re-title all the shells I need to have open to run it but in Gnome? When my daughter was in sixth grade her friends invited her into a group chat. At some point they started telling each other all the swear words they knew. Not cussing at each other, just listing all the words. This was when they discovered that instead of my daughter they had invited her grandmother who Does. Not. Cuss.You can probably imagine why I've been thinking about that today.

Was looking over the breakout sessions at #RedHat Summit, and sure enough... I suspect this is mandatory at every big FOSS event. Every year for decades now I've seen this session, and however much I might wish this were the year I can reasonably expect to see the session come back in 2026. #sysadmin

@tk since you asked...This very expensive part failed:https://parts.seattlemini.com/p/MINI_2008_Clubman-Base/43933895/64502752623.htmlwhich allowed the AC line to fall down onto the driveshaft. Which led to a hole in the AC line. Which led to the AC failing (no big). And also led to compressor lubricant to spray all over the front of the engine (kinda big). Which caused the accessory belt to fail. Which led to the water pump not working. Which led to the engine block cracking. I immediately realized the thrown belt and got off the freeway and stopped at once, but no. The engine block cracked from this rather minor insult.This came after I had made the following repairs on this car with 145,000 miles:1. Rebuilt automatic transmission (it'd been a while since I did one of those, big fun)2. Got the cylinder head machined and replaced the valve stem seals.3. Replaced the cylinder rings (BADLY needed).4. Replaced the radiator, AC condenser and dryer.5. A metric fuckton of other smaller repairs.This car had as many miles as a Honda or Toyota gets when it's just about ready for its second set of brake shoes.Nevermore...
