@penguin42 I think that might work well, but I think I need to get it working in plastic first due to costs, but I do agree metal probably would look awesome

It's taken 15 years since I bought the album, but I'm finally digging The Brian Jonestown Massacre

@fitheach I guess it's only fair, as there's albums in the collection I loved 15 years ago that now leave me cold.

After over a decade of being a Mac user, a couple of years ago I switched to Windows (via Linux).Today, for work reasons, I'm briefly using a Mac as a daily driver again, and it's been hugely frustrating: it's amazing how much of computer use comes down to muscle memory. This used to feel like home, but now is a foreign land.

@fitheach I needed to dual boot anyway for work reasons (I have to run Fusion 360 and occasionally Adobe apps), but WSL was just easier to live with given every distro I tried had issues with external displays on my laptop.Note I use Windows, but spend most of my dev time in WSL :) Basically Windows is a more usable window manager on my laptop, and it meant I didn't need to dual boot.

We geeks did tend to overuse the term a bit, but I really am sad that I can no longer use the word "meta" as a description when it's appropriate without people now thinking of something horrible.

I hadn't realised until I saw a post this morning by @workingclasshistory where the term "pie in the sky" comes from. My generation tends to use it as a generic term for a fanciful notion, but it originally comes from a protest song about how the workers were promised if the toiled hard today then they'd get to eat well... once they were dead and in heaven, hence the pie in the sky.Which is quite a bit more loaded with meaning than I'd used it before.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Preacher_and_the_Slave

Day 8 of #lovebytetcc in #ocaml. Very similar to my TIC-80 submission last year, but I needed to work out how to read and reply the old buffer, and I finally got rid of a bunch of global state that was bugging me - not very TCC, but helps better my OCaml.https://github.com/mdales/tcc23/blob/main/day8/bin/main.ml

I got this awesome print by (I think) @selyfriday as part of the #postcardsfromafar art swap - such a great piece to have in my office to remind me not to be there :)
