@i i went through these steps before checking the wiki, but it didn't solve itself. the keyring is updating fine, and I've cleared both the *.part and *.sig files. any other tips?

@Radical_EgoCom I still consider myself an anarcho-communist, and both live up to the system of self-regulation and promote other people to do the same. I know it's a futile attempt until individualism disappears and moral agency is learned, so I push for these necessary things to (re-?)appearThe question I'd make is whether it's right to call myself an anarcho-communist while acknowledging that it would be a big mistake to get rid of the state at the current time because society is not ready.

@Radical_EgoCom @marnanel Would it still not count as a strategy if I do this by leading by example?Helping others to some degree inspires people to pay it forward. Over time, this may accumulate to a cooperative society, which may or may not lead to a revolution, but at least people will value people's help and cooperation over the reliance on laws and governmental expectations. Is this futile? Perhaps, but I still think a bad strategy still is a strategy.

@Radical_EgoCom @marnanel What difference is there between a strategy and the approach one uses to (maybe) reach a goal?

@Radical_EgoCom @marnanel So you're suggesting listing out exactly how to help someone? I think that's a complex list to make a compendium of

i finally set up openwrt on my rpi4b, and now i'm wondering if there's something i can optimize. are these latencies within reason? how much may i be able to squeeze out of it? what does that depend on?(my observations in image alt text)

if i listed all the repos i'd contributed to on my cv, it would probably be half my cv, and most people would think it's quite impressivewhen you actually check the PRs they're mostly just 10 lines of code for small nitpicks that annoy me and are super easy to implement (is this impostor syndrome?)for instance, I'm a git contributor, a vim contributor, a gentoo contributor, a waybar contributor, ... the list goes on

what do people use for limiting a process' access to hardware resources? specifically memory and cpu.i am somewhat familiar with nice, but i don't find it to be super reliable to background a heavy task while simultaneously using the pc. it does somewhat okay at not freezing the pc, but that's about it.i haven't used cpulimit, is this the norm? how does it work? does using it slow down the underlying process a lot due to extra scheduling complexity and whatnot?what other options exist?

since I'm already on it, what about limiting access to the network? i know one can set up ip namespaces, and execute applications within said namespace, essentially acting as virtual interfaces

(this toot was sponsored by my last 60 minutes spent debugging a segfault, when i was sure i was checking for NULL-pointers (and i was!, but that won't work unless you actually initialize the pointer to a null-value)) 🙃
