Over the years I was exposed and had to learn several of their tactics, to know why some people, I had/have contact with, reacted certain ways:Here is a summary:- proclaim yourself center/left of center to trick people into thinking your policies are left- isolate (especially center) people so only your voice is heard- inflict fear into people, to further cement isolation

Those play out in the following:Sargon of Akkad (right wing youtuber) tells people he's center left, which he's clearly notHe positions himself as an intellectual, which he isn'tHe repeats over and over to not listen to voices on social media, but only "approved" voicesHe also gives hints where to find more information, which are of course crafted to make sure you only hear one voice

To sum things up:What nazis want, is only for them to be heard. They never wanted free speech, it is just a tool.They want to isolate you and only listen to them.I know, because a few of my friends got infected and came up that they fear of talking to me, because they fear "our political differences will separate us" and honestly...Unless you are an actual bigot, you're fine?If you listen, you are fine, but they use that fear to isolate.

OK, removed the tabs I had on :birdsite: and reduced the push notifications to two people, which are @ulvra and @MaxFirestorm Just reducing exposure to there as much as possible, because I have my place here and it's healthier for me.

@pandora_parrot I think with queer.party it is more that it just grew too much and the server is struggling.It got too big and the server seems to not be able to hold up.I'm sure their admin is looking for a solution, but that takes time.

Periodic reminder that capitalists don't work.They provide capital. They literally produce nothing and need other people to produce.Workers. Workers do the actual work and produce something.Capitalist provide tools, room, etc. but in itself they don't produce anything.You could also completely remove them and give the money to workers and guess what. Nothing changes. Like at all. Workers can still produce and just buy the things they need.

Gab actually uses a custom user agent to grab stuff.Mastodon does the same, but this makes it easy to make sure gab instances can't pull from you!addif ($http_user_agent ~* (gabsocial)) { return 403;}To your nginx configuration. That blocks all requests with a user agent that includes "gabsocial" (case insensitive)You can also add other user agents, at your leisureIt just returns a 403 if they try to pull
