Just made the horrifying discovery that while the UK Channel 4 website will now play content with Firefox (with ad blocking turned off), they'll pause the adverts when you change to another tab.Determinedly making the experience of watching content online more unpleasant than watching it on a "real" TV. At least the ads don't pause if you go put the kettle on during an ad break there.

@cbowdon It does not appear so.I did discover you can turn the adblock back on during the adverts, and it will skip the remaining ones, which is nice when it's a four(!!!) minute ad break.Still, some of the older content still insists on using Flash, so I'm grateful it works at all.

@fribbledom That exact thing just happened to me. Come out of the bathroom to find the postman putting a card through the door! Luckily managed to catch him before he was done.

@kev Shame - though the guts of the older Trackman Marble Wheels are simple enough that if you had access to a 3d printer you might be able to just mirror the case and re-use most of the innards.(Having said that, I've just opened up my "spare", and there's a metal bit that pinged off the wheel and I can't figure out where it goes 😕 )

I bought a second-hand KVM from ebay and have only been able to get it working very intermittently. Looks like it might be a power consumption issue - supplying more than 150mA to the keyboard and mouse is apparently enough to make it too erratic to be usable.

@OpenComputeDesign I might give that a go. It's a powered KVM, so it seems like a design oversight, and it particularly affects my newer keyboards. An older one I had lying about didn't seem affected, but it's non-ergonomic so not suitable any more.

Not sure anyone's posted this already, but the Linux Voice guys are back to the podcast under a different banner:http://bugreport.co.uk/news/2018/06/14/third-time-lucky.html

My main desktop PC died the other day - power button wouldn't respond at all. Today I replaced the PSU, assuming the 8-year old one was probably the issue. No joy. Still completely dead. Now guessing it's either the motherboard, CPU, or the power button itself. Bah!

@OpenComputeDesign Thanks for the suggestion, I hadn't heard of trying that. Alas, it didn't work.I'm guessing the mobo, since I tried the CPU in another machine and while it didn't boot, it did respond to the power switch. Annoyingly, it's only 3.5 years old.

Spent an hour yesterday afternoon talking Minecraft with my wife's 7yo god-son. He has only played the demo, but knows more about the game than I do.He and his friends play it in the playground, apparently, in real life.

@OpenComputeDesign I was that age in the early 80s, so computer games weren't that widespread (or that sophisticated either!).
