@matt I can't see any evidence of them being anti-linux, just ignorant of it. Anti-consumer? For sure!Anti-competition? Definitely!Anti-Linux? Nah they just don't care

@matt I knew this was going to be the Canada remark 😜 That's still ignorance, he doesn't understand that he doesn't actually have any freedoms on Windows. That's still seeing Linux as irrelevancy, which in and of itself is not Linux hostile.

@matt they intend to keep supporting Steam users - whether that eventually means granting an epic store copy, who knows, if that happens we're screwed. If they continue to fully support Steam users (on steam) and if their dev pipeline is pretty well optimised, its possible Linux might be supported along with Windows on Steam. We just have to wait and see

@poetgrant I'm not trying to piss you off, but doesn't leaving mean the "snow flakes" won?Just don't engage with those that act contrary to what you want. Social media and the internet at large is what you make it

@blacklight447 cheers I'll check it out - my understanding is that LOS's Privacy Guard does the same thing as shelter?

Anyone know of any movement regarding miracast/widi (#screencasting in general) on Linux these days? It's kind of annoying professionally when things like screenbeams are showing up in meeting rooms and I am unable to use them from my workstation Are most of these developments waiting on #pipewire? (I am aware that chromecast works through chrome)

@datenteiler yeah there is this and there is WDS from Intel (which is just a library) and openWFD.None of them have materialised into something end user friendly.

Imagine if you will a System Administrator who finds the needs of his System and Network dictating the parameters of his own life, is he still administering the system, or is it in fact administering him? Or just maybe he's been granted access to... The Twilight Zone

Giving #Falkon another shot as my main browser, Qt 5.11's version of Qtwebengine has really gotten fast and stable. Got Codecs and Widevine running successfully. As nice as some extensions like RES would be, it does a pretty good job of filling in the gaps itself. #KDE #Qupzilla
