Heads up: we are very likely to slip the official Fedora Linux 37 release in order to integrate fixes for the upcoming critical openssl vulnerability. Official decision on this tomorrow.

(Of course we'll have updates available as soon as possible either way, but the decision is whether to have the fixes in the installer, cloud & container & vm images, etc., in place already.)

Of course, there is some additional irony here — the thing that users often _want_ when they ask for a rolling release is _no hassle about changes ever, just keep it going_. But as Rich says, that's an illusion -- you still "deal with any problems that brings".

In Fedora, we get requests for "rolling, or at least an LTS" all the time. That's a strange request really, because they seem at the opposite ends. But the common theme is: upgrades seem like time-consuming, scary, obligatory events. So, we've worked to address that _root problem_ instead: a better, smoother upgrade process that is reliable and usually quick and painless.

Does anyone make a computer monitor with a punch-through camera? Like on many cell phones, except near the center.

End H1B visas and just let people move here and get citizenship. ---RT @GettingMojoBack@tim_maliyil @ZoeSchiffer I have a friend with H1-B and it's a whole different world. My friend doesn't have the luxury of jumping to another employer as that will trigger having to leave the country. My friend has been in The States for over a decade, and she is legally tied to the company.https://twitter.com/GettingMojoBack/status/1593655660456988672

Feeling pleased with myself: used a time-of-flight laser module (https://www.adafruit.com/product/5425) and an ESP32 board to make a MQTT occupancy sensor for my desk.Unlike with a traditional motion sensor, won't turn the lights of because you've been sitting in a call too long.

It has a field of view of about 18°, so I'm considering making a version that has 3 sensors pointed different ways, and replacing most of the IR motion detectors in the house.Faster to respond, more accurate, more precise (if you need that), and less family complaining about lights going off on them. :)

And won't be tripped by the pets because I can aim it at people-height.I do need to write something that determines the "ambient" distance automatically, rather than having hard-coded.

Also need to 3d print a case so it does not look exactly like a low-budget TV show bomb.

@proI actually _have_ a small box (from Michael's, even!) that I plan to use. But I'd like to print a support piece that would hold the sensor in the right place, with protrusions to match the holes in the board.

@aurocha @PJFDF @gnomeYeah, I would check for a GNOME upstream issue. That seems like a reasonable request.

@shamanIs there anywhere on Earth where 9.8 m/s² is not the closest approximation with one figure after the decimal point?
