The official Mastodon :mastodon: app started suggesting mastodon.social as default instance.We are critical of this change because it suggests that mastodon.social is the entirety of Mastodon when in reality there are a lot of different Mastodon instances.For the benefit of Mastodon and the Mastodon Network (which is entirely comprised of Mastodon), we respectfully ask Eugen and his team to please undo this change.

Noticed that mastodon.social has become the origin of bot spam waves? This was all Gargron's plan when pushing mastodon.social as the entry point for the Mastodon Network :mastodon: so there is only a single instance to block to get rid of the spam. Thank you for the sacrifice ❤️

Fun fact of the day 💡 Eugen Rochko showed up in 2016 with a certain beloved project — Mastodon :mastodon: What fewer people know is that then he decided to create the fediverse (an alternative name for the Mastodon Network) in 2008, transcending space and time in his noble endeavor.Way to go, Eugen! ❤️
