#nabu looks to be in good shape. The fan rubs a bit as expected, so I'll want to sort that out. And I totally forgot I need RS-422.. I'll probably make a TTL adapter like I saw on the YouTubes.I also vaguely feel like I saw a video that had some suggestions for checking the power supply, but I don't quite remember. Hopefully nothing blows up when I plug it in later.

I don't think there's any value in documenting the #nabu unboxing as it's been done many times already. If I'm wrong about that, there's about 90 seconds to change my mind. 😃

A disappointing end. I just can't get anything past those 00 and init messages. I know there's some data being exchanged, but I've tried half a dozen different serial adapters, Windows and Mac OS, and it's the same with all of them. I continuity checked everything on my adapter and it tests good, so I can't figure out what I've got wrong Worst case is I damaged the UART chip.

If you haven't read any Vernor Vinge, I strongly suggest doing so to get your mind speculating about ubiquitous computing and augmented reality. Fast Times at Fairmont High was written over 20 years ago and has some really interesting ideas. (Consensus, localizers, etc.)
