I discovered something really ugly today.Firefox isn't just captured, it's in f***ing bed with the enemy. I just did a dig of support.mozilla.org after it failed to resolve on my network and I found out the WHOLE DAMN SUBDOMAIN is hosted on Google Cloud.I'm seething.My experience on Firefox has been breaking lately and I now know why.While I am on the Krowverse Network, I can still ping another gateway to discover routes the Krowverse blocks by specifying either my gateway or a public DNS server.CNAME redirects have no power on my network, so stop using them.

@ilja @fmmniell can confirm, also, use sieve rules that target specific headers to prevent spam. Best place to look is AuthenticationResults/header.i. This way, you don't target a whole provider.

@l0ngyap @fmmniell you can do both. I use Proton and Runbox as backup relays. If you use another provider to send messages, you're subject to their terms and data collection policies every time you send a message.Google is a repeat offender when it comes to this, and routinely scans your messages to deliver you targeted ads.

@l0ngyap @fmmniell don't forget to update your zone records to indicate all relays you intend to use. If you use a personal relay, don't allow all networks. Only allow networks you administer or control.This will prevent your relay from being abused even if your credentials are compromised. Enable filtered firewall rules for ports 993, 995, 465 and 587.

We're considering expanding again. I'm going to take a look at failed activities to see who's trying to say hi. I just might say hi back.Oh, and I'm considering adding another Pleroma instance with filtered sign ups, too. I'll announce it here, on SMH and KSF once it is up. I'm going to test out the theme on my existing instance before I do.The Krowverse Covenant will apply to that instance. I'll tldr it and host it on a separate page. In addition, all MRF policies, except limited federation, will be applied. I'll also try to craft some tutorials to help users with frequently asked questions.Sign ups with Gmail will not be permitted. Try other providers. Please consult the known attackers list before signing up or accessing from a network we reject at the firewall level.The character limit will be larger than Glitch, but smaller then the Pleroma defaults. I'm eager to see what direction Pleroma takes before I decide to expand.
