@simon or maybe it’s what will be referenced in future history books as one of the first instances where we deliberately ignored sentience? :D

@simon I really appreciate your sharing of all this information. I haven’t had a chance to try it myself yet, but I’m looking forward to it. 😊

@simon this is really cool! I’ve also started exploring Copilot, haven’t reached your level of productiveness yet though, but I think I’m just not imaginative enough yet. 😄 Thank you for writing this up!

@simon @bplein GitHub’s copilot docs suggested it would spit out code fragments from public code about 1 percent of the time, and there’s an option to filter those out: https://github.com/features/copilot (in the faq section)

Does anyone here have experience with getting encrypted audio from e.g. S3, decrypting it in-browser and letting a standard audio HTML element play it? Any JavaScript libraries available for something like this? My web search hasn’t worked out so far.

@galdor thank you for the pointers! I’ll see if I can cook something together from those two. 😊

@simon I love how a passable rap battle between two animals has become a measure of software quality.

@louis It sounds like you're basically wanting inheritance? That's very deliberately not a thing in Go.

I continue to be surprised by the number of developers on the internetz that want to run Kubernetes, Redis, Nginx, and more themselves just to run a simple web app. I mean, for fun, sure! But if your goal is to actually build something useful to others, which it often sounds like, then that’s just an advanced form of procrastination.

@galdor Personally I think it's cooler to demonstrate shipped value, but to each their own. :D Some organisations prefer procrastination to value I guess. It baffles me how easy it is to build cool stuff these days, and how hard we make it for ourselves.
