First came the Google Analytics news from Austria and now Google Fonts ruling in Germany...It seems like the EU is catching up to my old post on how to de-Google a website. YouTube embeds next!? šŸ‘€ https://markosaric.com/degoogleify/

I even spoke to a reporter today who's covering the story. Wants to send a photographer to take some pics but I'm wearing sweatpants, responding to many messages and trying to change diapers on a newborn at the same time too šŸ˜‚

Just wanted to thank Google for announcing that the current Google Analytics edition will be dead on July 1st next year! And that they'll not allow people to import their historical data into the new GA4 edition is just the cherry on top šŸ„‚šŸ„³

This outcry against Google for shutting down Universal Analytics reminds me of them killing Google Reader. The difference is that this time people don't say that they love GA. They say that they hate the new GA4.

It's interesting to look at this VC/market downturn from the bootstrapper's perspective. What they recommend now is what we specialize in.We always "plan for the worst". We keep our costs low, focus on being sustainable and have a product people find useful / want to pay for.

I posted our $1M ARR milestone on LinkedIn too and wow there's a lot of engagement there! If you're not experimenting with LinkedIn, you may be missing out. Also, if you're looking to get funded: I got 10x more VCs reaching out via LinkedIn than via Twitter yesterday šŸ‘€

"I’m curious if the pressure (the growth imperative) has set in. How do you prepare your team for battle?"There's no battle. We won't change what works. We grow organically by taking it one day at a time and by de-Googling one site at a time. We just need time and patience.

I just published an overview of how we built a $1M ARR open source SaaS. I've listed all the significant steps and milestones along the way, starting from when the first line of code was written.https://plausible.io/blog/open-source-saas

My favorite emails šŸ˜€ Looks like Indie Hackers influenced Hacker News today! My old post on "how to pay your rent with open source" was trending on IH this morning and now it got to HN as well šŸ‘€

I love that Firefox now translates sites too! That was one major feature it lacked compared to Chrome. The remarkable fact is that Firefox translations are done locally in the browser, not in the cloud. Nice work!

April was our best month yet for organic Google search traffic (26.5k visitors with some 90% being branded searches). I assume GA made more people upset with some new move!?
