@nkizz interesting question! I tried to verify some hypotheses but can't really succeed. One is it was often thought of as a good beginners language, and I knew MIT switched to it, but that was after it became popular. I think numpy (2005) might have helped, but it doesn't seem to be the cause. I'd say the same for Django.Maybe it's because it made functional programming accessible which helped it's popularity in the science community

@marlies I must admit to not following the news, so I don't really know.I think there's enough rhetoric for trans hate to grow here, but I don't really see the slippery slope happening. I don't think there's enough political momentum for anti-trans regulation
