@sss There is gomuks. And there is actually a matrix plugin for weechat. Both have still issues. The weechat plugin is a currently in a rust rewrite, but I assume it will be pretty good after that.

@horhik #cabal got much better in the recent years. It’s approach gives more flexibility and I think also works better with some other parts of the ecosystem.#stack is still alive and kicking. If you want to rely on #stackage, it’s probably the way to go. Although you can even use stackage with cabal.

@someodd That’s then probably because no-one cared to fix them.In general, it’s important to know that we try to build all of hackage (16k packages). Those who fail for any reason get auto-marked as broken (about 9k packages). Normally, fixing a package is very low effort, but there are only very few humans maintaining that part of the package set, and we can’t manually fix 9k packages without knowing if anyone cares about a specific package. #haskell #nix

After a hardware failure in a RAM module, my #btrfs was corrupted beyond fixing.Once I decided to start from a clean slate and reformatted the disk, it took me less than 2h to recover the user data from backup and install my #nixos system fresh from the previous config.Now I am on a fresh install, which feels exactly as before. This is a situation where #nixos really shines.

Just a few hours ago youtube broke #YTDLP with a small api change.Thanks to using #nixos I just slipped a tiny overlay into my system config and can move on with my live.
