Sometimes I paint adventures from memory (in this case, I wasn’t in the window seat, but saw glimpses as we passed.) Landing in Medford a week ago, my plane flew by Upper Table Rock (a local lava plateau) rising from the morning fog that fills the #RogueValley in late fall. My “adventure paintings” are painted in toned gray travel books that I carry with me (sometimes I paint on-site if there’s time/obliging weather; often I paint them afterwards, from photos I took.) These are for me and my hubby; they’re never sold. It’s freeing in a way because it doesn’t matter how well-executed they are, they preserve a visual of a good memory, something to enjoy for years to come. I hope you enjoy them!

From ESA: Euclid shows us a spectacularly panoramic and detailed view of the Horsehead Nebula, also known as Barnard 33 and part of the constellation Orion.At approximately 1375 light-years away, the Horsehead – visible as a dark cloud shaped like a horse’s head – is the closest giant star-forming region to Earth.
