Okay, that weird 503 error when trying to find my WP site (with the Pterotype plugin) has gone - turns out I had only applied the LE cert to mancavgeek.co.uk, and Masto was searching for www.mancavgeek.co.uk .fixed that, but now it's not finding anything.I also have a bizarre permissions problem with the WP site that I can't get my head around, and I'm wondering if the two are related...

Okay, here we go - trying to install Pleroma (again!)I swear, if this fails this time, I'm just going to try to run a bunch of Masto instances - probably 4 - on this 4Gb VPS

Oh, come on!cd /opt/pleromasudo -Hu pleroma mix deps.getsudo: mix: command not found!!W!!T!!F!!The only time I've gone off-piste was when I had to find an alternate way of installing Elixir (see previous toots!), and now it's telling me this?

And it gets worse.Apparently, mix is included as part of the official Erlang/Elixir install from Erlang-Solutions, but isn't included as part of the install method via asdf.Which is worse than useless.Especially when the only instructions I can find for installing mix tell you to go to the official repo - which isn't giving me the correct version!

And now I've just discovered some instructions for using mix, and it turns out that it is installed, I just can't use it in the place where I need it!Anyone know what the executable path for mix is on an Ubuntu 18.04 system, before my brain implodes?:boom:

@pixelfed @diogo Wow!I ran a couple of nodes for a while, but almost no-one was using it anymore - great bit of software that ran on shared hosting, but onbly compatible with OStatus, and the latest version was at least 2 years old!

Calling all admins!I've just had a couple of follows from qoto.org, which bills itself as a "free speech, no censorship" zone. You may well want to add it to your blocklists.

Don't you just love it when someone you are following retoots a cool video, but the OP is a "freeze peach" RWNJ on an instance specifically for "freeze peach" nut jobs, and you think "nope, can't retoot that, can't give them the promotion! Damn!"

@thomas IIRC, certain Operating Systems (I'm looking at you, Windows!) default to IPv6, but if your ISP doesn't use that, it slows everything down - disabling IPv6 on an IPv4 only connection makes everything faster.Which reminds me - check to see if Virgin Media are any closer to offering IPv6 - they've been promising it for years!

@cloudCrapola!My self-hosted presences (such as they are!) are on there - haven't had any messages through about this, so will have to look in to what is happening...Actually, this could be a good thing - I think some of the problems I've been having are because Yunohost doesn't work quite as well as it should on ARM64...

@cloud Crikey - that's a fairly hefty price jump - I'm currently paying around 12 Euros/month for 2 VPS's (one ARM_64, one x86_64, and they are asking for 15Euro's just for the cheapest replacement!Might have to look elsewhere...

@cloud @kemonine Luckily, the only things I have on that VPS are my Pixelfed instance (which appears to have cocked up somewhere!), and my Plume instance (which I've barely touched in the 6 months or so its been running). So no major loss there if I decide to abandon it, but I was just making progress with mastodon/pleroma...Might just cut my losses, and move everything non-Fediverse back to my other host...
