@ErikUden @koehntopp I did not get this email. Are you sure it‘s genuine and not just a fake sender?

@wolf480pl I'm not a DSP expert at all, but yes, as far as I understand it, that's it.

@benjojo You'll also need to be very careful with the hardware design with such a thing -> USBs physical layer isn't quite symmetrical, frames are separated by pulling both D- and D+ to the same potential. Because USB frames are sent at 1 (or 8 for USB HS) kHz, you'll get a weird high-pitched noise if you have any leakage/interference from the USB lines at all.I'm sure most people reading this have heard it before but probably didn't know why: https://0xstubs.org/understanding-usb-microphone-whine/

Do I happen to know anyone in the EU with a LaserDisc + Domesday Duplicator setup?I really want to have a digital rip of a rare laserdisc, but I really don't feel like getting into a whole new ecosystem.Willing to pay for the time and effort.EDIT: My disc is a Japanese NTSC release, making things even harder...

PSA: Use the "accounturi" feature of Let's Encrypt CAA!If you're hosting a safety/security-critical service, there's a way too unknown feature called "accounturi", that allows you to restrict TLS certificate issuance to a single Let's Encrypt account (and account private key). You simply create a CAA record on your domain and put your LE account ID into it.This means that attackers cannot issue TLS certificates and pull man-in-the-middle attacks on your host!https://letsencrypt.org/docs/caa/#the-accounturi-parameter

There are finally real USB3 (not Thunderbolt, not USB4 PCIe Tunneling) 10GbE NICs! RTL8159 chipset-based, it uses the generic cdc_ncm driver on Linux. Also seems to work on macOS and iOS.TCP throughput between GPD Pocket 4 and MacBook Pro M1 seems a bit low at ~6.2 GBit/s, but that might also be due to the connected devices (both sides are using the same adapter).I don't have another 10GBit/s device here right now, sorry.Don't have a USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 device, so I can't test the full speed!

Also seems to work well on an iPhone 15 Pro via USB-C: Roughly ~4 GBit/s isn't the fastest network device I've ever seen, but well... (might also be limited by the iperf3 app at this point)

@littlefox @volpeon *sigh*OK, you wanted it:AMI MegaRAC (the BMC web UI for servers) has this feature where they allow you to select a .iso image for a CD-ROM in the web console (next to the KVM/VNC viewer). How did they implement the CD-ROM emulation? They open a WebSockets connection to the BMC, emulate a SCSI CD-ROM drive in JavaScript (!) and send raw SCSI packets back&forth via WebSockets, which the BMC then forwards via internal USB to the host system.
