@brosandprose I can tell you for a fact that that is true. Happened in my first marriage. I was the only reason he and I could afford to live in the neighborhood we lived. All the other husbands were 6-figures with breeders for wives. Mine was barely making $50K, which obviously isn't a small chunk of change but it didn't even cover the annual mortgage. And that's just the mortgage. Not the cars & extracurricular assets I funded. He hit me one time too many so I hit the road. Stronger erry day.

@brosandprose I never tell my stories to get sympathy or empathy. It's only with a sincere desire to remind folks they absolutely have the strength to get out of any crappy situation. I'm not the first woman to escape and I surely won't be the last. But I will be is a voice of courage to anyone who might stumble across my words and need a reminder they are the eff badatz and they will get through it. <3
