@primalmotion @purism the reason this is cool is that two major BigTech duopoly scaled those general purpose computers we carry on us, down to phones, when they are more capable of many of the laptops most of us carry around, in order to make sure we are digitally enslaved to them. And somehow, they both realised their goals.

@Gargron one point seems to confuse new comers; Attempting to see profiles of users from other instances could lead to no posts although posts count show a number. What is the possibility mastodon instance would implement a sequence to fetch posts from remote instance, if it doesn't have any posts to show when the profile stats assert posts exist?

@primalmotion I do understand the technical implication resulting in such behaviour. Only thing is, it is possible to make home instance request remote instance with more posts, should the stats report more posts are available. This doesn't necessarily means pulling those posts on spot to the local time-line queue but rather a one-time event.

@y3mz you mean something like docker image prune? Interesting. Because usually the advise and practice is to preserve those cached layers and images for later runs since there's high chance you will end-up needing them again. Or did I misunderstood your sweep act?

@davidrevoy this bothers me. I'm all for #AI advancement, but also with total respect to everyone's work. For me we will be there when we end-up with an AI that is able to tell which works derived the end-results from, which would contribute to ending this dilemma.

@be I'm more into 2FA and MFA than going password-less, as it implies we have to implant our phones in our arms or else we shall not be able to login again. I don't know for sure but password is a real problem that not enough resources are being put into solving it.

@dragnucs because they chose wrong license to begin with. If they chose correct license from day one that forces everyone to share their work with community, or customers at least, such as AGPL, this wouldn't have happened.Companies going that path, lead by #redhat mischief, are just going to destroy #FOSS realm after they benefitted from free-labour for two decades.
