       @leo All Twitter has to do is start supporting ActiviyPub federation and everyone over there would be over here. At least for as long as the federation lasts.I think it's the fediverse that's most likely to break from too many users, not Mastodon as such. With more and more people and more and more servers the itch to block entire servers will become stronger and stronger until there's nothing left but a bunch of inward looking islands.

       @EU_Commission There's plenty of information out there on how build recommendation systems (it's statistics, not rocket science). And disinformation and hate spread fairly freely long before social media.If you really want to make a difference, support teaching people Critical Thinking and Media Literacy skills.
