Not sure if it's a hardware issue, or TrueNAS being really shit at virtualization causing a whole system halt. I shouldn't be surprised that virtualization on a storage server software isn't as good as a dedicated hypervisor, but...

Proxmox Backup Server is back up and running, but its setup is slightly cursed - the datastore is running over an SMB share to the encrypted dataset on the TrueNAS VM. :neofox_googly_woozy: Works fine for my purposes, but probably not how it should be in a production environment lol.

I will clarify that the TrueNAS VM has direct disk access via the HBA PCIe card being passed through to the VM. I think the biggest losses will be from using the SMB protocol instead of the PBS VM having a big-ass VHD for a datastore.
