At dinner I’m getting details from Emily from Durham about what she said about scholarships and handling costs to make it more accessible.She says they do sliding scale, sometimes providing info on how much the event is costing the group, with a suggested donation, but nobody is turned away for not paying.#tangoQueer #queerTango #queerDance

@mcc you know how there’s that old law from the 90s that makes sites ask your birthday to make sure you’re over 13?I’ve learned from my current job that if putting today’s date in for the birthdate is possible, MANY users will. So there’s a ton of people that need that button to update their profiles and stop being 0 days old.

@futurebird @orangelantern @totalclaireity 6ft giant? 👀 my definition of “tall” starts at 6’4”.(A step-brother, two exes, and a gaming buddy are that height. Dad’s bestie is 6’6”. Another gaming buddy is 6’7”. The punk drummer I went to high school with was 6’9” when he got his license and unknown height by graduation. People who are 6’4” don’t like being called “tall, I guess,” though.)

@futurebird I’m a person who will eat ALL the Oreos if they’re on the counter. And graze on bags of chocolate chips.I have instructed my spouse that if such things enter the house, they must be stored in the cabinet that I’m too lazy to reach.We have pull-down shelves in the cabinet where actually useful things are up high. They cost a few hundred dollars, but they’re worth it.

@aredridel @futurebird @EricLawton @david_chisnall I’ve heard pricing on these is based on “tokens,” which I understand is in the tokenization/lex/yacc sense. I think that’s based on the number of tokens output, not input. When it has to make two or three tries at generating code that actually compiles, does each attempt get charged, or just one?

Some of the services did jack their prices up some time a year or two ago; I remember there being sticker shock. I think people expected what was free at first to go to like $20/mo and it actually went much higher.But I have no details. I haven’t used any of it.
