There's something perverse about the evolution of the word "phone" such that nowadays we generally use a word derived from the root for "sound" to describe a thing we mostly *look* at in silence.

I've always felt that working from home is a privilege. And, to be honest, it's actually been easier in some ways lately because that's now the norm. But there are also some people who *really* don't like to, and now I have a better sense of who they are.

I played Helltaker recently, and I was impressed by its willingness to dispense with pretense and shamelessly hit the ground running with its premise.Also, I got a bit of a Catherine vibe: block pushing puzzles, the good ending involves a harem of demon girls...

@mogwai_poet My approach, which won't work for almost anyone else, has been to separately add each new 2FA code to both my phone and my smart watch as I get it. It's awkward to do, so yeah, I'll be interested if there's something better. Paper backups of the QR codes sounds like halfway there.

I've been having a lot of fun with Unrailed! lately. It's a chaotic co-op game where your team clears space and lays tracks in front of a slowly moving train and you try to keep it going as long as you can. Similar feel to Overcooked, but without the discrete missions & story.

For what it's worth, I highly recommend reading some books or ebooks instead of the news and social media sometimes. It's much more rewarding and inspiring than nonstop negativity.Not that social media is all bad, but it's worth a conscious effort to read other stuff sometimes.

"Every other beat is missing" songs are great because they still maintain a semblance of beat and chord progression, but the lyrics become such fodder for mondegreen...(I may have written this tweet just to have an opportunity to use "mondegreen" in a sentence.)

@fraggle @fribbledom I think the saddest part is that the apparent counterpoint in that QRT is basically agreeing with the original: the *design* itself was a mistake...As for QRTs, I like to use them to express enthusiasm for something. But yeah, one of their main purposes is for criticizing something to a different audience...
