@dubikan @lassielmr @zleap @DidiQ That’s not a definition of school i ever heard of. I know superficial teaching of American history in American schools allows white grievance to flourish. It doesn’t have to be superficial. It’s a choice.In the south some of it are right lies. Some districts in the south still teach civil war wasn’t about slavery but states rights.

@dubikan @lassielmr @zleap @DidiQ The scope, depth, breath of what’s taught in school is a choice. 12 years nine months a year. Saying civil war was about neither is the kind of thing that appeals to certain white people who had a superficial education of civil war.

You have a superficial knowledge of civil war and you base your opinion about cause of war on your political beliefs.

@dubikan @lassielmr @zleap @DidiQ Ok. I’d be satisfied if americans graduated with the same level of knowledge of black american history as they do of english. Now their level knowledge of black american history is less than the level knowledge of students at end of the first semester of a spanish class.

@dubikan @lassielmr @zleap @DidiQ You understand the analogy was comparing competency of 12 years of a learning a subject that you practice every day of your life to a few months of a subject you knowing about when you start? And not to the level of competency required of first year college? The former is working knowledge for every day life. Yes. I would be satisfied.

@lowqualityfacts This is true. Nigeria Island and Rhode Island stand at the door of the stores where each work in a shopping mall. The closest point of the stores are the entrances which are 400 ft apart.

@lowqualityfacts This is true. As a former 3 month old i took up cursing, smoking, and drinking beer. But refused to walk or use toilet. I stayed up all night and slept all day. I loudly farted at the most inappropriate times. I was a menace until my mom had enough and kicked me out last night.

@stux All of our label are in metric and customary system. Which i just learned bc i had to look up the name of system we use. No one in school or college every said it had a name.

@lowqualityfacts A 7 year kid I used to work with once looked at baby in a park and said babies “freak me out.” He said it’s bc of their big heads. It was then I truly appreciated the head to body ratio of babies.
