@liaizon Sensationalism. Are "reputable" sources actually pushing that narrative? "Reputable" is in quotes because they're all owned by rich assholes. Though I certainly see a lot of more tabloid-y papers saying that.Anyway, all of this stuff freaks me out. I have to be pretty intentional this week about how much news I want to take in on the Iran escalation. Trump makes me so nervous all of the time and it's exhausting. I badly wish that the world wasn't the way it is.

I see so many people here that produce so many different kinds of cool and creative things and I want to know what the work methodology is to make it happen.What's everyone's fix for carving out the time when you have several time-intensive interests?I've been trying to make a habit of committing time each day to web dev, visual art, and music, but it seems inevitable that at least one of them doesn't happen after a while. Life gets busy. What do you do? What's your schedule?

@thor I sell animated gif/mp4 art for cryptocurrency on SuperRare.co. It isn't much but I get $400-700 USD monthlt so it can be solid side money (especially since I'm currently unemployed). Might be of interest to you if you're already making animations anyway.

Pleased with progress so far considering this is my first app I've built that uses any sort of database functionality. Also my first time using React outside of generating static sites with Gatsby.I decided on Slate for my text editor library, and it seems pretty user-friendly/feature-rich. Next step: updating the database. Feeling motivated!

My laptop (a Lenovo Ideapad Z710), has an issue where the screen keeps fading to white. Usually it happens when I move the screen, and to remedy it I need to either move the screen until the display "comes back", or--if it gets really, really bad--restart the computer/put it to sleep and wake it back up. I'm assuming this is just something wrong with wiring or the video connector. Thoughts?Going to open it up this week and examine. Also, anybody here have a favorite site to order components?
