@Ruth_Mottram @jeena it is a bit violent, but watching it as a kid would be good. The main character is a teen that gets radicalised. The follow up series is also very very good

@futurebird I have voted "on Earth" and my answer is because of the Laser, and the population inversion that generates it and the bizarre phenomenon of negative absolute temperature that comes with it - where you have something that approaches absolute zero from the other side, being actually super hot. I have been thinking about this since uni, and never found an example of this in nature as it is always consequence of human activity.

@futurebird @nixCraft you make a very good point here. Some people tend to discount it as 'simple, thus not performant' however speaking about processing text for example, a library like SpaCy made me realize how powerful Python can be at that too

@futurebird Nothing ever forbidden. when I was 12 I started hanging out with uni students and play d&d and call of cthulhu with them. My mother was pretty chill about it, after she met them, and one night I came home really late because the adventure was dragging on. Got home at midnight, I was barely 14 and my sister was just a few weeks old. My tired mother just said "next time, give me a call if you are coming home late" and after that basically I had no oversight. With different friends I could have ended up in a bad place, but luckily it was just geeky stuff, mostly.

@futurebird Met her through common friends in NYC, she was on holiday I was an exchange student there. We went to watch Inglourious Basterds on the night it came out, and kept in touch online for a few months until eventually I flew back to Europe.
