I feel we need to work to de-cringe hashtag use on fedi. These could be really useful and they've been ruined by mastocels polluting the pool by using 20 tags per post for no damn reason.I feel like showing some restraint would be a start, using only the most relevant ones for any given post, and not using any where they aren't warranted. I know restraint may seem alien to a network known (unfairly, if you've used any other microblogging service) for reply guys, but it really would help to just be more thoughtful here.

@david well yeah, in a way that's the point, it feels like a loser twitter thing but in reality tagging posts/content is just kind of normal if you want people to find it.It's not relevant for everything, but it would be very useful for finding new stuff that isn't specifically by people already in your Following list.

Apparently people are being made to do Game Jams as part of marked assignments at university now, which just seems 100% counter to the point of game jams to me.IMO, you are typically supposed to whip together something quick and scrappy and experimental in a game jam, maybe you'll build it into something bigger afterwards, but the point is to get used to producing finished works and to network/exchange critique with your peers.Also, the stakes are typically very low during a game jam. Sometimes there are prizes but it's not like making a bad jam game will affect the rest of your life (unless you choose to make something morally repugnant).If you are being marked on it for an assignment you are just doing coursework. This isn't a game jam. You are just doing project work. Call it that instead. If the rest of your life could be negatively impacted by poor performance in this activity, this is not a Game Jam! Stop trying to make work *sound* fun!

I think a lot of my makeup is so eye focused because it further enhances my powers of intense, burning, overwhelming eye contact, drawing you in so you can't escape.I'm like a pokemon trainer in that sense.

Had my first appt at the gender clinic today and it felt like it went pretty well, all in all.However, within one minute of leaving the clinic I had some bloke walk past and give me explicitly transphobic abuse. My response, of course was to1. Give him the finger2. Tell him to fuck off3. When he continued, told him to kill himself.4. As he *still* continued while walking away, offered to fight him.Pretty sure I got the best of that exchange tbh.I think every transphobic street harasser should probably be told to kill themselves and then offered out for a fight.Rest of my day has been pretty great tbh I have been playing board games with my gf all afternoon, just funny to get an incident of that immediately after an appointment where I tell someone that I don't always dress as femme as I'd like due to safety concerns.
