@a7 I honestly think many (most?) people who shout such slogans think they are being 100% honest and factual and not hyperbolic. If it was an online post it would bother me less. But when I see people screaming it through megaphones at people eating lunch then I assume they believe what they are saying.

@a7 From my personal experience, most left wing people are in default mode. It's what they have been fed by media and education their entire lives.The people in power at the moment (neo-liberals) are actually less default, which is interesting. They cater to the left but make sure class politics remains fringe. By neoliberal I mean mainline democrats. Mainline republicans are neoconservatives. Both groups sing the tune of money money moneyyyy.

@a7 Most right wing people are mostly refuse. Refuse from the christian right and poor social conservatives. They will not succeed. I think internet losers like myself like them because they are the clear underdogs.

@a7 While I do belive Bush should be in jail for war crimes and was a worse president than Trump, I don't think he was super socially conservative and I don't think anybody as socially conservative as himself will be in power. His opinions have changed to match the current zeitgeist, because he is a creature of power.

He's not liberal or conservative.On his policies, a Bush in 2016 would have been less socially conservative than Trump on immigration issues.A Bush will be as socially conservative as the cathedral requires, just as a Biden will be as liberal as required. Just enough to keep the system going.

@a7 But I think the drift on a long term time scale is clearly leftward, and the gist of this argument was my implication that the cathedral is predominantly left leaning.A look back in history only confirms this opinion the further back you go.By "left" I mean progressive. The terms "left" and "right" are basically meaningless.

@a7 The only disagreement is that I think what is commonly considered "conservative" and "right wing" is not within the current progressive direction. So those who desire power will mostly be neoliberals, as that is the current center of progressiveness. Conservatives like Ted Cruise are in their own niche due to local circumstances. They are all psychopaths nonetheless.
