TIL: the GUI/CLI calculator `qalc` handles uncertainty: "3±1*50±2=152±56". It also accepts input with 3+/-1 notation. This software keeps amazing me. Coming from traditional GUI calculators, I thought support for units ("1kW*1day to kWh=24 kWh") and arbitrarily large numbers was already very neat! Didn't even miss uncertainty, it didn't cross my mind to look for it, but now that I know it, I remember recent instances where I could have used that...

@Codeberg are they flooding the pipe simply with gigabits / packets per second, or are requests coming through from too many IP addresses which causes too high a cpu load in request processing? It sounds like the latter, in which case I don't understand why not block the entire autonomous system temporarily (while this is figured out)

Question for everyone: What do you use to limit the tracking of "forced" apps?- The train company sends my data to Tiktok (ticket needs to be shown in-app)- Signal to Google- TooGoodToGo to data brokers (can't order leftover food via their website anymore)- etc.How to block this?I'm hoping for a better alternative to TrackerControl since it's buggy (legit connections hang often) and makes that I can't ever use a VPN under any circumstance, but I'm at a loss for other options:BoostOK:

EU age verifier app was released today on github, saying it'll include remote attestationIs it just me who finds this terrifying? No more open operating systems for your phone if you want to be able to use it for age verification. For now, it sounds like this will be for porn, but social media (hello Mastodon) recently got a "recommendation" from our government to not be allowed below a certain ageWill we need a Google or Apple attested device to get around on the internet in a few years?
