Thing I love most about this place? It reflects way more of the diversity of life than any commercial place ever could. I'm a #mensa member #aspie #socialanarchist, a #cisbutpreferssingularthey #polyamorous #pansexual #queer #sadist #protector #dom with very diverse partners. I have interests from #hacking to #lockpicking to #cryptology to #spycraft to #statecraft. I play with #Lego and #Cobi... And, know what? I am not *at* *all* unusual here and that feels great. @shibao Germany has a loooong history of having a strong, vibrant Hacker and FOSS culture. Chaos Computer Club, Demoscene, Hackerspaces, GnuPG... It's not all that surprising a lot of that translates into a large interest in the fediverse ;-)

I recently had a quick discussing with @ruhrscholz regarding the political views of those behind the #suckless project (https://ioc.exchange/@lpwaterhouse/112643144344927693). In it I was personally convinced that #fascist ideas were held by at least some of its contributors, but the evidence was somewhat muddy (Dead links in https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1113738764797534208.html, chatlogs *about* them http://9front.org/press/harmful.neocities.org/, people with potentially very poor taste in naming #bitreich https://suckless.org/people/20h/), so I didn't publicly call the entire project out (yet).Well, today was a slow day and I started digging a bit myself. Note that this is not proof in any legal sense, but merely another coincidence.Suckless has a German legal entity, the Suckless e.V., to manage finances, etc. It is currently chaired by Laslo Hunhold (who also wrote the #farbfeld spec and seems to go by "FRIGN"). His personal homepage laslo.hunhold.de shares a domain with that of Rainer Hunhold (not to be confused with German actor Rainer Hunold) rainer.hunhold.de who is *abundantly* obviously part of the German equivalent of the Alt-Right (Anti-"woke", "Missstaende", etc. are well-known talking points, and the page is nothing but these). Since both use their full names as their very domain I saw no point in redacting them.Now, I cannot speculate as to the relationship between these two, but I'd still call this a second case of very poor taste, this time in public association.In conclusion I *strongly* encourage anyone against associating with the suckless project. Too many coincidences in my opinion. You might also want to replace some of the following with less... "encumbered" alternatives... These are just the most popular I am aware of: #dwm #st #surf #farbfeld #quarkOh, and in an unrelated note: #fucknazis
