@calculsoberic lowkey i think misskey is the one i like the most, it just looks really good, and has a lot of themes, and has some functions that i find handy. But the design is somehow lacking, sometimes you have to push more than one click to do something simple.

@herag nice, i bet when apps finally move to GTK4, the experience will be significantly better.

@herag well since GTK3 does not support hardware acceleration, it's the CPU that handles the UI, which tends to be a problem on small CPUs like... a pinephone. But GTK4 finally comes with hardware acceleration, i suspect that in the future apps will use less CPU resources because of that.

@devinprater All respect to this, but mobian devs, posh devs, gnome devs, and so on and so forth are doing their best in order to deliver a product that is not ready to replace an android device yet, they don't have the resources that android devs have, they're not backed by google. So if you want to improve this situation, donate if you have money and send the message. Probably a crowdfunding campaign would help.

@devinprater You are in your right to complain, but that doesn't solve the problem, it prevents understanding. It's quite easy to complain when you take the availability of funds and hired people for granted, but programmers are spending their free time in good faith and people don't seem to care or acknowledge their contributions.I guess in this case i will side with the devs, but the best solution to all of this is to coordinate and collect money in order to actually fund development.

@tarteka Para mi, con lo de wayland, no hay otra opción más que gnome o kde, hasta que mate se una a la fiesta.

@lanodan @federicomena so for you Go is a better replacement for C than Rust.In a more simple minded approach, i see Rust doing everything that C does while adding many more things and keeping the performance. To me that sounds like replacement material. While Go is a great language, it doesn't provide the same performance as C. I get your point but... i believe Rust is the best alternative to C.

@lanodan @federicomena all respect but with x86 and arm you are covering 99% of the computing devices out there. For now it's not that big of a deal.I agree that it is a problem, but it's a matter of time for it to be resolved and it has nothing to do with the language itself.

@GNUxeava it's so hard for me not to defend gnome, but i tend to ignore most of the criticism considering that gnu/linux users have not gotten used to having a decent ui design yet.

@avalos you always learn something new.I have never heard the combination of leftism and libertarianism. Leftism and anarchism sounds more fitting.

@avalos you know the modern satanic church originated in america, there has to be some "small government" ideology in there. As long as they don't try to force politics in their religion... satanism looks fine.

@js290 that is brutally honest, to be fair, nobody wants to learn political sciences, nobody would like to go back to school again to be lectured on complex subjects.Daily life politics is at the end of the day what matters the most to normal people. But from time to time, learning more about environmental politics, geopolitics, and foreign culture is cool and interesting. In that regard, Twitter ain't doing anything for me.

This kind of makes sense, but it doesn't take into account that the percentage of non edible food that goes to the cows vary per country. So eating meat is not as harming to the environment as it seems. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGG-A80Tl5g

After upgrading to ubuntu 21.10 i've noticed that upgrading #flatpak packages takes significantly less time, super nice. For a raspberry pi user like me, this is a bless.

@aral "(Hey, Tim Cook, if you say “privacy is a human right” but withhold it from your own employees, does that mean you really don’t believe that it’s a human right or that you don’t believe your employees are human beings?)"Nailed.
