@halcyon i just setup my new instance , as you can see (very new) . how would i go about getting the Halcyon layout installed? preferable replacing the default.

@halcyon ok thanks 👍 i will do that in the morning , already got the files on my drives. this server will also be going down briefly to cause i installed some very basic user-land so i don't have to ssh into it no more.

@halcyon perhaps for multiple videos you could do spoilers and have the label be the title of the video.then click to hide/show that particular videoi can't seem to get it to work in this HTML but perhaps something like this https://pastebin.com/Aw5D6qSG

@halcyon the halcyon seems to not update emojis.i just added 2 emojis and it updated fine on the default interface but the emojis don't show up in halcyon.

@halcyon i might be new to this fediverse thing but from what little i understand of it .it looks like these layouts are trying to be desktop clients just instead of being a local executable its hosted by the server.being as you have to input your "username@instance" to login to the local server instead of replacing the default.perhaps have you considered packaging it as a appimage or docker to run as a desktop client ?

@matrix , that cool .me and my instance are , new , to the fediverse so we don't exactly have a topic.it was mainly to replace Facebook for me and my small group of friends but they seem to not want to come on over , and eh that their choice i guessbut im keeping this instance open anyway.

@matrix its a pretty interesting challenge (not to hard just interesting) to get a server running on residential internet.most stuff like documentation and tutorials , etc.. are designed with VPS as their primary target it seems. but that seems very counter-productive to me because what the point of having a server if its on somebody else's hardware

@matrix i actually got this one being thrown out , it isn't the most powerful thing in the world. but it gets the job done.i use it for dual purpose though , its my desktop and a server.i had to get a graphics card and another cpu though cause i didn't want to view everything at half a frame a second.next thing on the list to replace/add is new harddrives . one of them already failed on me. luckily there is 4 of them in this rig.
