@miramarco Do you actually need help unclogging a drain or was that just a random example? (I recommend zip-its if the former, especially if you suspect the problem involves hair. Those things are great.)

@buffaloser if I was a tattoo artist I’d offer a 10% discount if I could follow them around and watch people react to it.

The process of being up too late at my age is always the same but I never learn.10pm- it’s plenty early, I just need to get my bath and be in bed by midnight.12am- nbd, I’ll have a quick bath and be asleep by 1. I don’t have to be up til 9.130am- wow, I’m not tired at all.3am- maybe I’ve evolved beyond the need for sleep. I bet I could stay up til my work meeting and then sleep.330am- uh oh4am- I have made an enormous mistake.

@InvaderXan Aside from the stuff like seeing downtown empty at midday, what felt weirdest was probably how my sense of time just collapsed when I didn't leave the house for weeks at a time. By late spring it felt simultaneously like it had been a minute since lockdown started, and that it had always been that way. I never realized how much my timesense relied on daily and weekly routines.

@InvaderXan I *love* working from home. I'm so much more productive when I'm able to walk away when I'm too tired/distracted/bored and come back after a rest or a snack or doing something else for a while. It is endlessly comforting to have my budgie chorpling to me all day and be able to see the cats napping when I turn around. I live alone but between pets and the internet I have never felt alone.

@InvaderXan Every time we get close to a deadline where I might have to return to physical workspace I get anxious (they keep getting pushed back). I get unhappy/anxious/doubtful about leaving for trips (I've taken two this year, driving but otherwise restricting my contact to immediate family) although I settle down once I've actually embarked. In a lot of ways lockdown has created this bubble where I feel in control and it is scary to leave it.

@InvaderXan When we first went into lockdown in March I would get deeply nervous about the amount of food I had- irrational bc I was employed and had access to rideshare and grocery delivery. But I used to walk around my kitchen touching packages and counting how many meals' worth of food I had, sometimes more than once a day. I think it was a control thing, but it stopped once my hindbrain accepted that the world wasn't ending (maybe 4-6 weeks in).
