@skeskali Hmm, would love to see this becoming an ebook standard.Along with the usual metadata, authors adding their 'Cast' into the book's underlying data, to be displayed when character names are selected, would be fantastic.

@grillchen Yes, please recommend. I'm always looking for more.And no, most of these shops sell ebooks without watermarks. The ones that do are the likes of Verso, Pluto Press and very few others.And, of course, nothing wrong with watermarking books. It dissuades theft and doesn't cause any privacy issues as long as it's done carefully - such as not putting your email address on the cover, as a Libreture-specific example.

I was just remembering the way J-Novel Club sell their ePub ebooks.Premium ebooks are EPUB3 and are not available anywhere else, and can only be obtained by exchanging them for J-Novel Coins.But you can get 699 coins each month by becoming a Premium Member. Which means you can get a free Premium ebook each month using those coins... 🤔 Wish it was less complicated.

I think. 😭ePub3 is the latest version of the open ebook standard. And ePub is backwards compatible, so they'll work on any device/app that understands ePub2. 😁

@glennmagusharveyYes, ePubs are 're-flowable' ebooks, so the text always fills the screen (page). So if you set your text to large type, you'll have more 'pages'. Small text - fewer pages.Percentage is always a better way of thinking of how much of an ebook you've read. But finding that out always depends on how the device or app chooses to display things.
