@nik also all negative emotions can be converted into angerdepressed? - find someone to blame and be angry at themlonely? - be angry at everyoneembarrassed? - be angry at whoever embarrassed youand so on. Just getting the blame off yourself and putting on someone else can feel really good

@karolat @nik I mean yeah if people could just shoot up a school anytime they got angry there would be a lot less anger in the worldNot all anger can really be expressed like that for various reasons"I'm going to live better and be happy to show you I don't need you or make you jealous" doesn't seem like a healthy way to live but maybe it is I don't feel like most of my anger can be converted like that.

@nik @karolat I don't know if I can really put it into words properlyDoesn't it just intuitively seem better to live life for a positive reason like supporting someone or working towards a cause, rather than to bring someone else down (by showing them they were wrong)Also that wouldn't really be satisfying to me in a lot of cases

@grips It was partly a joke based on nihilism, don't worry I won't hurt your religion. I'll probably just find some liberal lutheran/anglican church to join just to have church in my life without hurting anyone else's faithalso yeah I live in Southern Baptist territory. Protestantism barely exists here. There's one catholic church in the town over but it's dead I have never seen anybody in the parking lot I have never met a single catholic here who actually went to church and wasn't just catholic because their parents were catholic. I'd have to drive by like 10 baptist churches just to get to the nearest catholic church
