@Tankenator1 I guess the real question is asking who benefits. When "friends" try to figure out how their kid got the sniffles, I don't think it's benefiting either of us… but their fear benefits someone!

Attempting to automate when to start the car, currently working with the idea that every ° below 0 needs another minute to warm up. @radix023 @DaemonFools They’re very common here. I believe the majority of new cars sold default to coming with them already installed. Our family van, a Kia, has an engine designed somewhat differently, in part to be better at cold starts (we’ve never had a problem, even after a -35° C night) but it means you can’t even get the normal type of heater. I’m considering getting either that magnetic kind, or an oil pan heater, to help get the car warmer quicker (not to mention slow down wear)
