@ilja maybe this is why some apps are self-updating recently, not elegant but way better than having no updates once you are not in the stores any more.And once you are not in the stores, even if you wanted you cannot update the old clients to add this self-update. You need to add it before even if you never end up using it.

@icedquinn It has two hinges to it can break twice as much.Met someone with this phone. The camera tries and fails to a wide-lens thing in software, only the center looks correct. Everyone else looks bent and disfigured like monsters.

Just like bits are bits in the concept of "information wants to be free", money is money when it comes to open-source project donations.You don't need to advertise hate groups that donate to you, but you're still being silly if you refuse their free money with 0 strings attached. If you're not looking for donations that's a different thing of course, but evidently a lot of projects are looking for donations.And since you're not sponsoring, and the vast vast majority of users aren't sponsoring, it ends up being defense companies. And that's great, less money for bullets and more money for open-source.

@pixel Anti-Mozilla is okay, Mozilla management is pretty garbage, especially their vampiric CEO that somehow gets a higher salary every time Firefox market share drops.But it's sad when you see closed-source and much worse for privacy/security/user freedom alternatives get pushed aggresively when there are many Firefox forks + other non-Firefox open-source browsers.It's like when Signal has a small problem and people recommend switching to Facebook Messenger instead.

@kaia cline has a setting for "Always accept" so you don't even need to click "Accept" any more. Tokens go brrrr and all you get are credit card recharge emails.
