I commissioned the model of her almost a year back when I first decided I wanted to get into making metal sculptures. Originally the plan was to electroplate a resin sculpture with copper, but a short term project turned into a long term one and now I'm casting solid bronze instead.Theres a few imperfections such as small layer lines since I tried a new FDM filament for creating the burnout sculpture for the mold instead of resin, but im still overall really happy with how she turned out!

Shes finished! I patinated her with the same oxide colors as the statue of liberty, but kept the flame covered to give it the golden look

Tried welding for the first time last night to fix a mistake I made on a cast I’m working on right now. I’ve got to give it to welders because it’s definitely a lot harder than YouTube makes it seem.

In all honesty, probably one of my worst casts since I tried a lot of new casting methods/clean up tricks with it. Biggest thing is the bottom right being a bit janky since I decided to try tig welding for the first time to fix up a casting hole. Despite all of that its still presentable enough and I've learned a lot for next time which im really happy about

Do you guys think I should continue to do the rotating shots as I have been or should I do them inside my photo box? If you look at my 4cc cast you’ll see the white background helps show off the highlights of the metal that show irl, but not well on camera. On the other hand I like having a natural background to show off how its an actual object and not a render.Just looking for opinions like I prefer having just one video and one still photo instead of cluttering stuff with a bunch of pictures

My contribution to the mare gallery!Unlike many of my casts, she is bronze cast hollow with a wall thickness of 3/16th of an inch. Despite that, she is by far by biggest cast so far standing at nearly a foot tall and weighting ~14lbs

Anyone know any good tips to force yourself to get stuff done? It’s not that I have no motivation to create pony stuff, but that there’s other stuff I need to do to actually be able to create and I keep putting it off.
