Does anyone on here use Hughesnet for internet? Looking for insight into the QoS Function in the modem settings. Hoping to use it to better manage my bandwidth so certain devices don't take up a majority of the bandwidth while others don't get enough.

@mike I'm not sad as much as I'm surprised. To me the gaming world was always ruled by proprietary games and capitalism. But this was a huge purchase with some big name games. Microsoft released an impressive rebuild of Minecraft. I'm curious what they will bring to these other games. Would be nice if they brought their whole Xbox lineup to Linux.

@mike I'm not sure they care to remove games from existing services or change the games in any way that hinder their existing adoption. Like with Minecraft they didnt so away with Linux support or anything. On a side note I really need to check out Steams Proton sometime.

@mike So far MS tries to encourage the existing efforts by the studios and maybe help them succeed where they might be falling short. It's more of a teaming up rather than swallowing the studios and shitting out more MS rebranded products. SO FAR anyways.

My buddy wants to send me a Raspberry Pi 4 to setup for him. Says he needs a router/server type deal that can manage a network and route web traffic, including to locally installed domains on the same Pi. I'm familiar with setting up LAMP servers and managing networks via manufactured router. Though combining the router with the server on the same machine is rather new to me.Any advice/ideas/suggestions welcome.@kev ? @mike ? @ericbuijs ?

Plus I have to consider the remote administration interface that will help him manage it all.My payment for doing all this is getting a Pi 4 kit of my own. Sounds fun to me :)

@kev I did mention to him that it wouldn't handle a lot of traffic. But I think it'll be something of a starting point for what he's got in mind in the future. Any advice you got I'm happy to receive. I can use it on the better hardware too when he realizes how much more he needs to invest :)

@kev Double checked with him about the traffic. It's actually not going to be a busy server but rather a small local network type thing. Disconnected from the regular internet. It's just providing a hotspot with customized web/network services for local use.
