Had an appointment with a long COVID specialist who told me there wasn’t much she could do for me, but had a few suggestions for unproven treatments that might make sense and some tweaks to my supplements. She charged $400 and doesn’t take insurance. This was unironically *great* news, the most helpful medical appointment I’ve had in a long time, and was meaningfully cheaper than most of my other treatment options. Just to try to emphasize to folks “avoid getting COVID”.

Oh my god, my new magnet + metal plate setup is so strong that I can’t remove the keyboard without it pulling off the metal sticker because the magnetic pull is so strong even through multiple layers of clothes. I’ll need to super-glue it once I’m confident in everything else.

I’ve also introduced a small travel trackball that helps a ton, I wish there were better low-profile keyboard pointer options (not soliciting advice, I will literally block you on sight if I don’t know who you are and you come into my mentions to ramble about trackpoints!!) but I now understand why people building sculpted desktop keebs like to shove a full-sized trackball in there.

@futurebird If you were willing to model and 3D print your own keycaps and design your own PCB, you could theoretically use Choc v1 low-profile switches with 14.5x14.5mm keycaps, which would be about 75% of typical size (MX keycaps are 20x20, Choc keycaps are typically 18x17 but often uses MX spacing)

PSA: despite having Epi-Pens my entire life, literally no doctor ever bothered to tell me the reason they come in 2-packs isn’t so you can keep the backup somewhere else, but because you might get in a situation where one pen doesn’t buy you enough time, and so you shouldn’t separate them.
