Just a reminder about Mastodon.Try not to directly upload videos here.You have to remember that these videos have to be stored on the server that you're hosted on.This would also eat up on available bandwidth, storage and memory resources of said servers and slow them down. Which would force server hosts to upgrade at a substantial cost.Suggested idea...Upload to YouTube, Vimeo or other video streaming services and share the link to the video here instead.

@stevefoerster I didn't know about peertube until the first mention today. Plus it's been mentioned a gazillion times already. Twitter peeps won't know about it instantly and any other video host is fine until they decide whether the fediverse is something they want to stick with.

@permagriculture @peertube Torrent based may still have it's limitations.Depending on the amount of seed, retrieving the video will be slow if the number of people storing the file is low and it also depends the the upload speeds of each seed. If all seeds disappear the file cannot be retrieve or may take a long while to download or stream.Torrent storage aspects always seem great and it may have grown but I still think that it might have its problems.

@llebrun @Gargron You do realise that Gargron is the founder of Mastodon softwareHe's the admin of mastodon.online and mastodon.social.The decentralised social network consisting of different UI's including things like Mastodon, Plethora, etc is known as the Fediverse.Your issue is with moderation of the instance run and kept active by Gargron.Not Mastodon and not the Fediverse.
