@aeva if your team is bigger than 10 people and doesn't work on tasks that require cooperation then it's in 99.9% of cases not working. Which pretty much rules out anything that's game-dev... I could get away with it in a tools project (6 people) and honestly it was the best time ever. But I doubt I'll ever see that again in my lifetime

@aras I so hate this format from working a decade outsourcing. Importers with random backward compatibility, tons of glitches. Minor version bumps breaking things. People thought using Collada for archival was a good thing until you (unsuccessfully ) opened those files for a remaster or port. Please let this format die. Or at least disable save and prevent the creation of new Collada files. Even old OBJ is a much better bet than this. (sorry for being Collada triggered :( )

@futurebird a lot more history. A lot more scary shit history. Cuz a lot of people didn’t learn anything or why is everyone voting for Trump, Organ & Co? Also history is awesome, like if you need inspiration for your writing, tv-show or game you’re working on

Transitioning away from gamedev? I turned 49 and I still love games as ever. But I've been wondering if game dev (the industry), and IT in general, is still the right career for the next 15 (20???) years.Anyone here doing something totally different now?
