       I found this quote from @kirschner on a recent @techlore talk (at ~29 minutes) to be worth sharing here:When you are in a democracy, you distribute power. You make sure that there is not a single point where a lot of power is contentrated. [...] But when we look at software or technology, we have a lot of power in [...] very few hands. And for a very long time people didn't realize the impact of that on society. But I think that is something that is changing now.

       @BrodieOnLinux If we want facebook to not EEE the fediverse, we need to treat threads just like any other instance. My instance is blocking instances without proper moderation and threads definitely is ine of those. Therefore it is blocked by my instance and I fully agree with that as giving fb special treatment would give them way too much power.

       @BrodieOnLinux Since I use NewPipe and can not comment there, I will do that here. For now, everything works just fine for me. But when things break, I hope that I will be able to convince you to also publish on peertube since you are one of the very few channels that I regularly watch from yt. I can offer to set up a pt instance for that, we will have to see then for how long my vps will be powerfull enough to handle your massive amount of content and viewers.
