@foone The nostalgia of sitting at home, my senior year of high school, a few months after upgrading to Win 98, and installing VB6. I still use my VB knowledge thanks to Excel VBA, but damn just seeing that splash screen is bringing back some feels!

@stux In high school (mid-to-late '90s), we had American Studies I (discovery -> pre-US Civil War)American Studies II (US Civil War -> Clinton admin)World History (Mesopotamia -> present)Each semester was 18 weeks; 1.5 hours each class, 5x a week. The World History lessons of WWI and WWII were like 3 weeks. The American Studies II lessons for WWI & II were ~2 weeks. When I took HIST220 in college, I learned more about WWII than had ever been taught in all of my K-12 education. I had thought to take a course on WWI, but never got around to it.Growing up an < 1 hr from DC and 30 minutes from Antietam and Gettysburg, you really get the sense of American-focus.
