       @mjg59 Experience from Android is that once you offer turnkey attestation lockout to developers (Play Protect/SafetyNet/DeviceCheck etc), it winds up infecting a lot of things that don't strictly need it.Social networks would be a good example. They can operate without attestation just fine - but they absolutely would tribute 1-5% of their users to get a >50% reduction in spam and abuse.

       @labradorgirl @pluralistic Don't forget that "tragedy of the commons" was coined by Garret Hardin, specifically to advocate for population control. Garret himself was a eugenics advocate that liked using ecological arguments - i.e. he was an ecofascist.The actual enclosure of English farmland is a tragedy but not for the reasons that economists think. The REAL tragedy of the commons is that, to stop a small handful of people abusing it, we punish EVERYONE by enclosing the commons off.
