waitwhat? today morning #ubuntu told me I have awaiting *security* updates but I can install them only if I have Ubuntu Pro. How come it is good idea to disallow installing security things?Or this is just a bad #UX and I do can install it in some way? #linux

@Marv ok, reading this https://askubuntu.com/a/1453309 I see it is in fact bad UX. They did not make Ubuntu worse - they are trying to make it better but only for Pro users

@Marv after all, if we ignore the fatal UX for this window prompting "hey we have a security updates which you cannot install unless you are pro user" it is not so bad: - you can still use Ubuntu as you did (which means the sec updates will be available when mainstream channel have them)- you can use this pro channel to get themquicker than anyone else- if you use it for personal use, you can get them for free (although I did not check what they do with your data)- if you are pro, which means you are maintaining quite big computer network then pay for it (which sounds fair)They absolutely should change the UX, the way how they communicate it

@ecosdelfuturo @Blort @nuddlegg yup. In so called meantime I read their legal docs :) They do not collect much data, though they allow theirself to share them with any reasonable 3rd party subjects and provide to legal services as per request. Sounds spooky but in the era of Fb not so bad. The question is do you want to have "faster" sec updates by resigning from your sense of freedom and privacy, or you want to stay with the same speed of sec updates delivery and the same Linux experience.

@kmic lata już mem ile się zarabiało w TVP za czasów poprzedniej ekipy. Ale przestrzelony bo raz, że porównujący zarobki z czasów PiS za niepełny rok do zarobków z czasów PO w kilka lat. Do tego zmanipulowany bo 21 mln dla Lisa to nie za prowadzenie wiadomości, a dla jego spółki medialnej za różnego typu realizacje. W TVN i Polsat pewnie zarabia się podobnie ale pamiętaj, że żadne z nich nie wypłaca pensji swoim gwiazdom a) za szerzenie perfidnej propagandy b) z pieniędzy zabranych bezpośrednio z podatków. Jak sam zauważasz, budżety marketingowe mają duże, TVP ma dużą dotację z budżetu państwa i mam prawo być oburzonym na co ona idzie. TVN po prostu nie oglądam i nie interesuje mnie ile Nestle zdecydowało się dać Kraśkowi na pompowanie tej czy innej partii.

@emill1984 @kojot na razie utrzymujemy się na pozycjach, dzięki. Taktycznie wyszedłem odśnieżyć szybę w samochodzie i założyć tę srebrną osłonę: prognozy mówią, że temp spadnie, a to by oznaczało skrobanie rano.

Przypominają: jak dostaniemy SMS z próbą oszustwa nie tylko oznaczamy u siebie w telefonie jako spam ale też przekazujemy ją na numer 8080.
