@stux Just a random thought ... wars start when states fight against each other.Today's rise of the far right appears rather to be about fighting the own population and those considered outsiders. (Exceptions apply.)Thesis: No state would have fought against the Third Reich and their crimes against their own population if the Reich hadn't waged war against their neighbours and victims abroad.Else: You're right, of course.

@stux Remember ... it's a long-term project.If it won't come to pass in 2025, then it may in 2029. Or 2033.Opposition to Project 2025 (and hardening against it) needs to be in it for the long run. Opposition has already started, e.g. in some blue states, but it needs to ramp up. E.g. by solid voting.Just so.

@LordWoolamaloo Same, shortly afterwards, with the flight around the Enterprise in „Star Trek: The Motion Picture“. Those were genuine models and genuine cameras. For many today, that was time wasted. I licked up every angle, every second, tears in my eyes. Things never seen before.

@stux Well, he made a decision. As someone pointed out, now the dems own it. I have my thoughts, and I am sure there will be a full review on what happened. But not before the election.I sincerely hope the democratic ticket (and senate candidates and house candidates) will win the day. In the interest also of us who are not US citizens.

@futurebird I remember some comments I heard during his first presidency (where he wasn't a nice guy to begin with) from voters with a Christian Nationalist leaning to the tune of: "He may not represent our Christian values, but he will get us what we want."Well, he did and he will certainly try and continue to do so if he keeps his free reign.The rules of the "political game" have changed massively.
